How this site measures visits · Updated October 22, 2026

We want to know which pages are useful so we can make better ones. We do that with two analytics tools, both set up to collect as little as possible. We don’t sell data, we don’t run ads on this site, and we never see your name or email unless you write to us.

What we use

Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies)

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and shows us, in aggregate, which pages were visited, where visits came from (for example a search engine or YouTube), the type of device and browser, the country, and how fast pages loaded. It doesn’t use cookies or local storage and doesn’t track you across other sites. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics 4 (uses cookies)

Google Analytics gives us aggregate reports on how the site is used: pages viewed, time on page, scrolling, clicks on links (including clicks through to our YouTube channel), use of the breathing pacer, approximate country and city, and device type. To tell a new visit from a returning one, it sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_04TF991ZRR on this site. We set these cookies to expire after 13 months.

We’ve set it up for privacy:

Google processes this data under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.
